Isolation in the Time of Need

To be obliged to beg our daily happiness from others bespeaks a more lamentable poverty than that of him who begs his daily bread.

~ Charles Caleb Colton

Since the nature of life’s traumas is to isolate us, there is a human tendency to wish to become dependant on others to make us happy. We think the outside world should come over to visit, call us, invite us over, etc. Out of our fear of being abandoned or rejected, we let others do the calling and intitiating. Why should we take any risks? We need to take risks and even fail at times. Not to do so is to create a vacuum in our hearts and souls.

Today’s Life Coach Action Plan: Call one person each day and intitiate the conversations. Take the risk!

Note: Write and let me know how this works for you.
